Indian telecom operator Tata has separately signed five-year agreements with Nokia Siemens Networks and Huawei for the GSM network rollout, the Economic Times of India reported on December 8, adding that the deals are valued at a total of 3.5 billion Rupees (US$72.1 million; US$1 = 48.5 Rupees). Under the agreements, the two telecommunication suppliers will construct a total of 60 million GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) lines for Tata's pan-India GSM network launch, according to the same source.

Tata confirmed that Nokia Siemens will be responsible for GSM services across nine circles of Tata's 22 telecom circles in India. The number of Tata's circles that Huawei will be responsible for, however, is yet to be specified, according again to the Economic Times of India. Further details of these deals were not disclosed as well.
